Broken boy with a fire in his heart At the finish line, got no place to start World of choice with options to consider What a mess, this is not your best boy Stand and deliver Bad dreams, puts on his black jeans Washed out with a coffee at 9am Turns on the TV again Sad face, you are a disgrace Back to bed for a little longer Spikes his coffee with something a little bit stronger Broken boy, he's been that way for years. The fire in his heart was extinguished by his tears Too afraid to grow but not afraid to wither What a mess this is not your best boy Stand and deliver There's a world out there So go fix your hair, wear a smile instead, And start again Find a pretty girl, she could change your world, Put on a brave face Stand and deliver Stop wasting time Stand and deliver Stop wasting mine Broken boy he's been that way for years. Fire in his heart was extinguished by his tears, Sing a song of six pence, pocket full of rye, There's a world out there so go fix your hair and open up your eyes She's a pretty girl She could change your world I can see a smile, You're starting again Now the coffee's gone, Boy your on your own Put on your brave face Stand and deliver Stop wasting time Stand and deliver Stop wasting mine

Do you hear me calling? Let me tell you about a thing that you do Cause the cold look I get from those brown eyes Keep me frozen and turn me blue You kick me in, Then you kick me out And back again There is something I'd like to say Baby, I hate this way When you say my name There's no one I can blame Darling, dear I put myself right back into the game Your brown eyes Tell no lies Set me free Your hair It ain't fair You know what you're doing to me You're my silver lining I already did my time For loving you, which was a crime Took the test, and set to trial The fact of the matter was, I was in denial But the truth right from the start You were the one who stole my heart When you say my name There's no one I can blame Darling, dear I put myself right back into the game Your brown eyes Tell no lies Set me free Your hair It ain't fair You know what you're doing to me You're my silver lining You're my silver lining Your brown eyes Tell no lies They set me free And your hair It ain't fair Cause you know what you're doing to me Your brown eyes Tell no lies They set me, they set me free You are my silver lining

Sleep 03:55
Over there I'm in, In the fields of green Crying clouds they speak Sleep now For me and you I know This time it feels so cold Sleep now Say your prayers Backed against the wall Feet fall through the floor I'm not afraid to crawl For you and me I know This time it feels so cold Sleep now Backed against the wall Feet fall through the floor I'm not afraid to crawl The clouds hit with decision Gold rain I'm forgiven I'm forgiven For you and me I know This time it feels so cold Sleep now

Find me Sittin' alone in the back streets See my speech box is empty I've got nothing to say Dedication, it wasn't enough You just took off when the times got tough Seems to me that pride is keeping you away They say miracles can happen Boy, I wish that was true Cause the chances of you coming to me Are the same as me coming to you Oh-oh-oh I've got nothing to say to you Anymore It seems to me that only yesterday we were fine I guess that we just ran ourselves out of time I should have seen the signs Read between the lines You found me I'm still sitting alone in the back streets My speech box is empty I still have nothing to say Your dedication It still wasn't enough You just took off when the times got tough Seems to me that pride is keeping you away They say miracles can happen Boy, I wish that was true Cause the chances of you coming to me Are the same as me coming to you Oh-oh-oh I've got nothing to say to you Anymore It seems to me that only yesterday we were fine I guess that we just ran ourselves out of time I should have seen the signs Read between the lines The only thing we lost was a friend I went right and you went left We should stop trying to pretend That we both didn't lose a friend And I'm gonna see how to mend it And how we are going to fix this again They say miracles can happen Boy, I wish that was true Cause the chances of you coming to me Are the same as me coming to you Oh-oh-oh I've got nothing to say to you Anymore It seems to me that only yesterday we were fine I guess that we just ran ourselves out of time I should have seen the signs Read between the lines

Silhouettes 05:13
Standing here All by myself Silent symphony Slowly plays for me I'm up so high Too afraid to fall I'm a melody Take a look inside my silhouette This is who I am This is who I am This is who I am I tasted the sadness, it's sweet but bitter I looked behind this black silhouette I told you once, so I stood and delivered Mine is a face that I should never ever forget Sometimes it stays Sometimes it goes Silent symphony The one that plays for me Sometimes I guess I think, I know The face I always forget The face of the symphony of silhouettes Now I guess I'll take a look at mine This is who I am This is who I am This is who I am I tasted the sadness, it's sweet but bitter I looked behind this black silhouette I told you once, so I stood and delivered Mine is a face that I should never ever forget Silent symphony The one that plays for me The symphony of silhouettes This is who I am

The Freemen owe thanks and gratitude to many:

Family- For lugging gear around, giving lifts to the dark depths of Woden, tolerating loud and unnecessary noise and providing support that without this album would not be possible.
Mark Sutton and Greg Stott of Hi-Hat Studios- Your generous kindness allowed us to record in your wonderful studio with your up to the minute gear, while providing professional guidance for young musicians who don't know what they are getting into.
Mark Webber- For mixing the album with the utmost patience and thoughtfulness while allowing for our untrained input and ideas to be heard without dismissal. A rare amount of respect held for naive musicians that was greatly appreciated.
Alan Hilvert Bruce for the hire of a Fender Super-Champ.
Liam Hancock for his gracious lending of a Mesa Boogie.
Pat Walker for his nice and glossy edit of our album cover.
Sean Martin for all his gracious work on our art.
and finally to all of our Friends who come to our gigs, listen to our music and share it with other people, you make this happen.

about

The Freemen Canberra, Australia

The Freemen are a lovely little 5 piece that play funk-laced indie rock for the masses. Hailing from the wonderful wilderness of the A.C.T, these high-schoolers take many influences from groove based rock like Franz Ferdinand to more melodic bands such as the Smiths layered with smooth classical vocals. They are currently riding high of the release of their debut E.P Get Free. ... more
